Taking it back Tuesday

I need to start shooting video again with a good camera, this time. It was a minute ago, but these are still my peeps to this day! Much has changed but friends remain.

Saturday, October 20, 2012 Join us as we battle the UNDEAD the only way we know how, with paint and beats! Over 50 local artists will attempt to stun these reanimated creatures with their incredible LIVE painted creations. As the LIVE bands distract them long enough for us to CHOP OFF THEIR UNDEAD HEADS! Together, we may just survive. Our UNDEAD line up includes:
DJ Louie Dollars Dancelikerobots Yes Inferno CZARS, This will be their LAST SHOW EVER!
Come ready to be “UNDEAD-ED” by the uber-talented Lawrence Mercado from NOTBOT FX! He will have you looking so dead; your family members will contemplate decapitating you! (Wait, is that a good thing?)
As always, Sugoy and Miau clothing will be screen printing limited edition UNDEAD themed t-shirts LIVE at the event for only $10! And if we are lucky, Sweet Lizzy may just make some tasty cupcake creations!
Artists can sign up NOW at www.artslamsa.com and be sure to include a LINK to some of your artwork. Sign up will officially end on 10/6, but if you sign up this week (9//17-9/21) you will be notified on 9/21. All others will be notifed by 10/10. If you have not received an email by 10/10 then we have filled all the spaces and try again next round!

Martial ARTSLAM! returns with ENTER THE ARTSLAM! We have been training all year to battle it out brush to brush, can to can, and canvas to canvas, to bring you some of your favorite characters from the martial arts world, created by your local artists! Expect to see kung foo legends from movies, comics, T.V., and beyond! Both fictional and non-fictional alike! You can also take a break from watching these artists created and join Gameover Videogames for their Mortal Kombat tournament that will be taking place amongst the madness! Its free to sign up and you can win some awesome prizes! You can expect to see Sugoy Clothing from ATX there as well! For the past 3 shows they have been printing limited edition t-shirts with designs created only for the show! The best part is that you can pick your color & size and its only $10! HY-YA! We have been saving something special for you karate kids, we have invited some great musical acts to hi-kick you in the ear drums! Mojoe Mexican Step-grandfather Third Root BOMBASTA and the soul fighter himself DJ JJ Lopez will be chopping up the beats all night! Costumes are always encouraged and celebrated! VAIDERS

Since I can't make the latest Artslam(Villains) edition, here is my little contribution for the bad guys. It also covers the last Artslam I missed! ;) It's obviously a take on the Raiders logo mashed with Darth Vader. I might make stickers for this one. stay tuned.

BRING ON THE BAD GUYS and GIRLS!

This time around, the BAD GUYS are taking over! Every villain from cartoons, movies, comics, TV shows, books, and even real life will have the spotlight at “Bring on the Bad Guys!” It’s our (one finger) salute to the people who make it their goal to be a pain in other people’s asses! We have decided to fight fire with fire. We have signed up one of the BADEST bands in side of the Rio Grande, STEGOSAUR! That’s right! They are reuniting, with a vengeance! Catch their first show back in over a year! Assisting with the musical retaliation is Papermoons (Austin), CZARS, and Langton Drive! We’ve also enlisted the help of the mighty DJ Benzo to keep us dancing all night! The villainy happens at The White Rabbit on July 14th 2012 Doors open at 7:00pm and we pARTy till 2:00am It will be $6.00 at the door ALL AGES (10+) We hope you will join us and 50 of your local artists as we paint the villains you love to hate, all night long! ARTSLAM! 8 bit madness!!!!

Some of our fondest memories as kids were from being at some old arcade, wasting Ma and Pops quarters on some 8-bit goodness. The smell of sweaty, teenage palms, and the sound loose change. The team-building skills we learned from playing TMNT or X-MEN, even The Simpson’s classic arcade games with groups of people we had never met. Those were the days… And we miss them. So we are bringing it all back with ARTSLAM! 8-BIT ARCADE! (LEVEL 2) We have an incredible line-up including: The Descendants of Erdrick, Mrs. Howl & the return of http://www.facebook.com/megamantheband! Also, helping us pass the mini-bosses: DJ ROCKWELL 9000 We will also be having a classic game tournament provided by: GAME OVER Videogames (fb) And of course we will have over 40 local and out of town artists painting ARCADE themed LIVE ART all night! All art work created that night will be up for silent auction! We are bringing back our sketch cards so be sure to grab a flier when you see them around town! The flier has a blank side, and if you bring it to the show you can ask an ARTSLAM! artists to sketch some game characters on it for your! We will have a bunch of other guest and goodies happening throughout the night so show up early to win some cool swag from our sponsors Pabst and Montana! via -Rob Perez
